How to Install an ExtensionThis DesignPack relies heavily on specialized JavaScripts to render the pages properly, create the effects and animation, and cure many of the cross-browser compatability issues. We have created Dreamweaver Extensions to enable you to manage and modify the site for all of these scripts. These extensions must be installed before you begin to work on your DesignPack. The Extension ManagerAll of the extensions included with this DesignPack are designed to be installed using the Macromedia Extension Manager. The current version is 1.2 and is the same version that is shipped with Dreamweaver 4. You can download the latest version of the Extension Manager from the Macromedia Dreamweaver Exchange site. The Jazz ExtensionsThese extensions should be installed using the Extension Manager, we'll show you how in the next section. If you already have some of them installed, be sure that you are using the very latest version... if in doubt, you can safely install the supplied version to automatically replace the version you are currently using.
Install each of these extensions now, using the following technique: 1. Installing an ExtensionThe extensions required for this DesignPack are located in your \local_files\extensions folder and contain a .mxp file extension. Mxp is the file type that the Extension Manager will recognize as an installable extension. This example will show you how to install the AutoLayers by PVII extension. Open the Extension Manager Click the Install New Extension button, it's the first button on the left. Using the folder icon, navigate to the /local_files/extensions directory and select the extension you wish to install, in this case let's select autoLayers. Click the Install button. Click the Accept button to acknowledge the Macromedia Disclaimer notice. The Extension Manager may provide a warning message if the same or older version of this extension is already installed, click Yes to install this version. The Extension Manager will now install all of the files necessary for this extension, including any supplied Help Files, and display a success message:
Click OK. Note that Dreamweaver should be restarted in order for the new extensions to become effective. Restart Dreamweaver after you have installed all of the extensions. Repeat steps 2 through 8 to install each of the extensions required for this DesignPack.
